The actors and actresses in the movie are all having their debut feature film performances displayed here. The main three are Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, and Joshua Leonard. I know that a lot of the dialogue was ad-libbed, and I also know that the directors put the performers in situations to be really scared. Whatever the tactics, the acting was absolutely incredible. It was the kind where you're not looking at actors, you're looking at the real people. Those three people were simply perfect in their roles.
Daniel Myrick & Eduardo Sanchez have a VERY bright future in Hollywood. They wrote and directed and even edited "The Blair Witch Project." EVERYONE wants them right now. This is their debut as writers and directors (though Daniel Myrick helped to edit a movie called "All Shook Up") and they've created something rare in America: an original movie. Like "Pi," Darren Aronofsky's daring film last year, this is a film that follows no formula and it's simply different. VERY different, which is how independent films SHOULD be.
I saw this movie in the daytime on a weekday, and it was sold out. I have a feeling that "The Blair Witch Project" will be a shockingly big hit. And by the way, who the hell are all these people who walk in late to the movies? My GOD!!! Be on time, assholes!!! I couldn't pay attention to the first few minutes of the movie because of all the people walking in late and being so freakin' distracting.
"The Blair
Witch Project" wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, but it IS scary.
It's an extremely effective movie that was very intelligently written and
directed. I plan on seeing it again, and I'm sure I'll see it again after
that. As I write this, it's in limited release, but it'll expand to wide
release in two weeks. See it as soon as you can. And then see it again.
